Client Overview:
Our client is a leading fashion house with a strong presence in the women’s apparel market, known for delivering timeless, high-quality collections. Their team values collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence. They are now seeking a Freelance Technical Designer for Dresses to help bring our designs to life.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$35/hr – $40/hr
Position Overview:
The Freelance Technical Designer for Dresses must be detail-oriented specializing in women’s dresses. This role will work closely with the design and production teams to ensure accurate technical specifications, high-quality garment construction, and seamless communication with vendors. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, excellent organizational ability, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities of the Freelance Technical Designer for Dresses:
- Create and update technical packages (tech packs) for dresses, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Collaborate with designers to translate creative concepts into production-ready garments.
- Conduct fit sessions, record detailed comments, and ensure garment corrections are implemented.
- Partner with vendors to address technical issues and ensure on-time, high-quality samples.
- Manage PLM data entry and maintain accurate records throughout the product lifecycle.
- Ensure all garments meet brand standards for fit, construction, and quality.
Required Experience/Skills for the Freelance Technical Designer for Dresses:
- Minimum 5 years of technical design experience, specifically in women’s dresses.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and PLM systems.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and trims.
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Freelance Technical Designer for Dresses:
- Experience working with both domestic and international vendors.
- Familiarity with garment costing and production timelines.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field.
