Position Overview:
As the Front Desk Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office. You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing excellent customer service and administrative support. Your duties will include managing appointments, handling inquiries, processing paperwork, and assisting with various office tasks.
Responsibilities for the Front Desk Receptionist:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages as needed.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of office resources.
- Verify patient information and update records accurately.
- Process patient check-ins and check-outs, handling payments and insurance information.
- Manage office correspondence, including emails and mail.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and photocopying.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
- Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Coordinate with medical staff and other departments to facilitate patient care.
Required Experience/Skills for the Front Desk Receptionist:
- Proven experience as a receptionist, preferably within a medical or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and office software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Additional certification in medical administration is a plus.
