Our client is a growing behavioral health company in Central Florida. The company has over 50 locations and continues to expand through acquisition and organic growth. They are now looking for a Grant Accounting Manager!

Position Overview:


The Grant Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial management of grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing comprehensive financial reporting and analysis. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in accounting and finance, preferably within the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities of the Grant Accounting Manager:

  • Oversee the financial aspects of federal, state, local, and private grants. Ensure compliance with all funding requirements, including the preparation and submission of financial reports.
  • Develop and manage budgets for grants, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and grantor expectations. Provide accurate forecasting and variance analysis to senior management.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, including grant expenditure reports, financial statements, and reconciliation of accounts. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to grantors and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and standards. Ensure all grant activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations. Coordinate and facilitate grant audits.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard grant funds and ensure accurate financial reporting. Monitor and evaluate internal control systems for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Work closely with program managers, finance team, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective grant management. Foster strong relationships with grantors and funding agencies.

Required Experience/Skills for the Grant Accounting Manager:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant accounting or financial management, preferably in the healthcare industry. Experience with federal grants and healthcare funding is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, grant regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to travel to Florida monthly.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Grant Accounting Manager:

  • Experience in public, non-profit, and healthcare accounting.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
