Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner

Our client is a luxury medical practice that focuses on preventive medicine and prides itself on quality care for patients. They are looking to add an Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$160k – $190k Depending on experience

Position Overview:

The Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner will work with a team of providers to ensure each patient is cared for properly. This is a very hands-on and collaborative role and will work 4 x 10-hour shifts.

Responsibilities of the Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner:

• Work closely with Chief Medical Officers to perform comprehensive health assessments.
• Collect medical histories, conduct physical exams, and order diagnostic tests.
• Diagnose acute and chronic conditions; develop differential diagnoses.
• Create and manage individualized treatment plans.
• Provide primary and specialty care in collaboration with the CMO.
• The Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner will prescribe medications and order/interpret diagnostic tests.
• Implement therapeutic interventions and monitor patient outcomes.
• Adjust treatments as needed to manage chronic conditions effectively.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease prevention.
• Promote lifestyle changes, immunizations, screenings, and preventive care.
• Perform clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, IV insertion, and EKGs.
• May see patients independently for urgent visits, including on weekends.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.

Required Experience for the Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner:

• 3+ years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in internal medicine, family medicine, or emergency medicine.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Comfortable working under physician supervision.
• Comfortable performing hands-on clinical skills like EKGs, phlebotomy, IV insertion etc.
• Able to work 4 x 10-hour shifts and be available some weekends.

Preferred Experience for the Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner:

• Previous experience working in a hospital setting.
• Experience with EMR systems.
• The Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner should ideally have preventive medicine experience.

Education requirements:

• Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing is required.
• Valid NY NP License is required for the Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner.
