Salary/Hourly Rate:
$110k – $125k
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Litigation Associate (Mid-Level) with 2-5 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation to work in our Pittsburgh office. The Litigation Associate (Mid-Level) position requires significant client contact and the ability to excel when working independently. Superior client communication, writing, research, computer, and organizational skills are a must. Experience required in drafting initial pleadings, conducting depositions, preparing and responding to written discovery, and extensive motions practice are required for this position.
Responsibilities of the Litigation Associate (Mid-Level):
- Handling cases from preparing responsive pleadings to trial.
- Propounding and responding to discovery.
- Conducting depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and experts.
- Attending court hearings.
- Preparing and arguing motions/oppositions.
- Trial preparation.
Qualifications for the Litigation Associate (Mid-Level):
- 2 – 5 years in civil and commercial litigation.
- Must be licensed in Pennsylvania.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Word.
- Legal research and technical writing skills, including proficiency with legal research tools.
- Ability to handle complex litigation matters from inception to trial, including preparation of pleadings and briefs, managing discovery and depositions, and conducting legal research, analysis, and writing.
- Experience in both state and federal court proceedings.
- Strong academic and employment credentials.
- Excellent writing, research, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Good interpersonal interaction skills.
- Well-organized.
- Proven track record of performance.
Education Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate is required.
