They are currently looking for a Medical Administrative Assistant to join their team. This is a 13-week+ contract role.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$20/hr – $22/hr

Position Overview:

The Medical Administrative Assistant plays a key role in creating a positive first impression for patients and visitors. This position is responsible for registering patients for appointments, explaining the registration process, and addressing any questions or concerns. The representative processes co-payments, deductibles, and other balances, ensuring accurate handling and reconciliation of payments at the end of the business day. Additionally, they assist patients with self-service kiosk check-in as needed, helping to ensure a smooth and efficient registration experience. The schedule is from Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm or 8:30 am – 5 pm.

Responsibilities of the Medical Administrative Assistant:

  • Registers patients arriving for appointments.
  • Explains the registration process and answers patient questions.
  • Processes co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and outstanding balances.
  • Safeguards payments and reconciles the cash drawer at the end of each day.
  • Assists patients with kiosk check-in as needed.
  • Completes the Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire and updates coverage as necessary.
  • Collects signatures on consent, financial, and other required documents.
  • Distributes, scans, and records all documents gathered during registration.
  • Counsels patients on non-covered services and obtains signed ABNs and waivers.
  • Monitors the waiting area to ensure efficient registration flow.
  • Communicates delays to patients and supports a positive experience.
  • Completes registration for inpatients missing required information.
  • Responds appropriately to patient concerns and safety issues.
  • Follows procedures to reduce risk from potentially contagious health conditions.
  • Keeps the front desk and waiting area clean and organized.
  • Ensures all patient information remains confidential.

Required Experience/Skills for the Medical Administrative Assistant:

  • Prior experience in a business setting providing customer service.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Comfortable processing and verifying electronic demographic, financial, or other business-related information and data.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma is required.
