Our client, a specialized medical practice with 8 full time physicians a seeking a full time Medical Biller in Mercer County.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$22 – $26/hr

Position Overview:

The Medical Biller will be responsible for analyzing assigned past due accounts and coordinating between third party payers and internal parties to resolve payment discrepancies and delayed payments. The Medical Biller communicate with payers about re-filing claims that were underpaid due to plan/provider errors. Use tracking system to follow up on re-filed claims with plans to ensure complete resolution.

Responsibilities of the Medical Biller:

  • Prepare and submit clean claims to various insurance companies either electronically (EDI) or by paper in accordance with payer guidelines/contract requirements
  • Ensure appropriate supporting documentation is received and complete to ensure accurate and timely processing of claims
  • Analyze and update claims submitted and rejected during initial submission to ensure accuracy and completeness for high second submission approval
  • Research and perform all secondary billing
  • Possess full understanding of EOB’s to ensure payment accuracy and compliance with contract discount
  • Review and recommend claims for adjustment/write off to management
  • Follow up on partially paid and unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe – Outbound calls are required
  • Review denials and process all claim appeals
  • Support and assist clinic staff with ensuring orders are entered accurately in the POS system and all pertinent information is obtained to process billing accurately with the first submission

Qualifications for the Medical Biller:

  • 2+ years of experience
  • CPC certification a plus

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED is required
