Client Overview:

Our client is a well-known NFP within the sports industry. They are a mission-driven organization dedicated to creating positive and lasting change in the communities they serve. They are founded on the principles of compassion, equity, and empowerment. They are seeking a temporary Paralegal to join their team for the next 6 months.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$30/hr

Position Overview:

The Paralegal will play a vital role in supporting attorneys by providing legal and administrative assistance to ensure the efficient operation. This position involves conducting legal research, drafting documents, organizing files, maintaining legal databases, and managing case files. The Paralegal will help prepare hearings, trials, and meetings, and may also assist in client communications under the supervision of an attorney.

Responsibilities of the Paralegal:

  • The Paralegal will conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery documents, and briefs.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions.
  • Organize and manage case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
  • The Paralegal will communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to arrange interviews, gather information, and provide updates on case status.
  • Summarize depositions, interrogatories, and testimonies.
  • File documents with courts and administrative agencies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal procedures and regulations.
  • As a paralegal, you will perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, invoicing, and maintaining calendars.

Required Experience/Skills for the Paralegal:

  • At least 3 years of prior law experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong academic record.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Paralegal:

  • Internships or prior roles as a Legal Assistant or legal clerk are highly valued to gain practical experience and understand the professional environment. 
  • Experience in the NFP sector.
  • Proficient in legal research databases.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
