Client Overview:
Our client is seeking a Payroll Associate (Part-Time) to provide hands-on payroll support during a busy transition period. The organization requires an experienced professional to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, while maintaining compliance and supporting internal team training.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$35/hr – $40/hr
Position Overview:
The Payroll Associate (Part-Time) will assist with the existing payroll team in processing multi-state payroll through Paycom. This position will require close attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The role will begin as a temporary, part-time position (approximately three days per week) and run through the end of January, with possible extension based on project needs.
Responsibilities of the Payroll Associate (Part-Time):
- Support payroll processing for all employees across multiple states.
- Utilize Paycom to process biweekly payrolls, troubleshoot errors, and ensure accuracy of employee data and pay calculations.
- Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Participate in on-site employee training sessions at regional facilities alongside the Payroll team to help address common questions and issues.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Provide additional administrative or analytical support to the payroll function as needed during implementation and stabilization.
Required Experience/Skills for the Payroll Associate (Part-Time):
- 1+ years of hands-on experience using Paycom.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs are required).
- Familiarity with multi-state payroll processing and related compliance requirements.
- High attention to detail, organization, and accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Payroll Associate (Part-Time):
- Experience supporting or working through a payroll system implementation.
- Prior experience processing payroll for nonprofit or education organizations.
Education Requirements:
- Coursework or certification in accounting, payroll, or HR is a plus.
