Our client is an American-based biotechnology company with the goal of designing innovative products in material science while maintaining a focus on sustainability. They are looking to add a Pilot Plant Technician to join their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$25/hr – $30/hr Depending on relevant recent industry experience

Position Overview:

Seeking a Pilot Plant Technician to work with our Process Engineering team to schedule and execute project needs. This Pilot Plant Technician will be hands-on in multiple aspects of the project from start to finish including but not limited to maintaining procedures/equipment, developing reports, and proposing next steps to the engineering team. This role is a dayshift Monday to Friday position.

Responsibilities of the Pilot Plant Technician:

  • Operate pilot scale equipment to develop products for Research & Development and Production needs
  • The Pilot Plant Technician will work collaboratively with other Scientists, Engineers, and fellow technicians to develop new processes and streamline current processes
  • Ensure proper tech transfer of processes from pilot plant to commercial scale manufacturing
  • The Pilot Plant Technician will work with Supply Chain for inventory needs
  • Ensure accurate documentation of experiments and batch records
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and sanitizing of equipment
  • Follow appropriate protocols to ensure the safety and quality of both the team and the products generated

Qualifications for the Pilot Plant Technician:

  • Prior experience working as a Pilot Plant Technician is highly desired
  • Pilot Plant Technician must be able to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions of equipment
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs unassisted as well as stand, reach, and climb steps
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team setting
  • Prior experience in working in pilot plants
  • Computer skills
  • Strong communication skills

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Polymer Science, or other relevant fields is required
