Our client is a small, family-owned plumbing and HVAC company dedicated to providing top-notch service to residential and commercial clients. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, they pride on craftsmanship, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Their team is now looking for an Estimator.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$100k

Position Overview:

The candidate for Estimator must be detail-oriented and experienced to join the team. The Estimator will be responsible for accurately assessing the costs associated with plumbing and HVAC projects, preparing detailed proposals, and working closely with clients and our in-house team to ensure successful project completion.

Responsibilities of the Estimator:

  • Conduct thorough site visits to gather necessary information for estimating.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for plumbing and HVAC projects.
  • Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing information.
  • Present estimates and proposals to clients in a clear and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure estimates align with project goals and budgets.
  • Maintain and update estimating databases and records.

Required Experience/Skills for the Estimator:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an estimator in the plumbing and/or HVAC industry.
  • Strong understanding of plumbing and HVAC systems and components.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Estimator:

  • Experience with both residential and commercial projects.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
  • Previous experience working with a small business.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
