Client Overview:
Our client is a well-established organization seeking a detail-oriented Pricing Analytics Consultant with experience in B2B pricing strategy.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$35/hr
Position Overview:
The Pricing Analytics Consultant will play a critical role in supporting pricing execution by developing scalable financial models, assessing the financial impact of pricing decisions, and supporting the implementation of pricing tools and systems.
Responsibilities of the Pricing Analytics Consultant:
- Develop and maintain advanced pricing models and tools to inform pricing decisions and drive margin improvement.
- Conduct financial impact assessments for pricing strategies and changes.
- Assist in the configuration, testing, and rollout of pricing software, including the generation of price books.
- Analyze large, complex datasets using Excel and Alteryx to generate actionable pricing insights.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Pricing, Finance, Sales, and IT to operationalize pricing strategies.
- Track pricing performance and identify opportunities to mitigate margin leakage.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in pricing methodology, including elasticity, segmentation, and cost-to-serve analysis.
- Lead tasks and projects autonomously with minimal supervision.
Required Experience/Skills for the Pricing Analytics Consultant:
- 4 – 6 years of relevant pricing analytics experience in B2B industries (manufacturing, distribution, industrials, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with PROS pricing software, including implementation, pricing logic, and price book creation.
- Expert-level proficiency in Excel modeling and strong working knowledge of Alteryx for data transformation and workflow automation.
- Solid background in financial modeling, pricing structures, and margin optimization.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage deliverables in a contract-based environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, fast learner, and comfortable with ambiguity.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Pricing Analytics Consultant:
- Previous experience in a consulting capacity is highly preferred.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field is required.
- An MBA or an advanced degree is a plus.
