Our client is a global consumer goods organization known for producing iconic, household-name brands. The company operates a 24/7 manufacturing environment with multiple production lines and a well-established manufacturing presence throughout the U.S. They are now looking for a Production Supervisor.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$85k – $90k
Position Overview:
The Production Supervisor plays a key leadership role in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing operation, overseeing multiple production lines and leading a team of both salaried and hourly employees. As the site continues to scale and stabilize production, this role is ideal for a supervisor with experience navigating new lines, startup challenges, or ramping production to target levels. The Production Supervisor is accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and team development on their assigned shift and works a 12-hour rotating schedule following a 2-2-3 rotation.
Responsibilities of the Production Supervisor:
- Lead and support a production team of 35–50 employees, including operators, generalists, and seasonal staff.
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations across multiple production lines, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Drive performance against production targets, addressing downtime, yield, waste, and labor efficiency.
- Build a positive, accountable team culture focused on engagement, training, and development.
- Coach and develop employees, ensuring proper training across processes and positions.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, and plant safety standards.
- Partner with Maintenance, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain on troubleshooting, new line ramp-ups, and improvements.
- Lead shift handovers to ensure clear communication and continuity between teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing efforts.
Required Experience/Skills for the Production Supervisor:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising and leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing or production-driven environment.
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold teams accountable.
- Comfort managing through change, startup challenges, or new production lines.
- Solid understanding of GMPs and manufacturing best practices.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Production Supervisor:
- Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience supporting new line startups or scaling production environments.
Education Requirements:
- Education level is flexible; hands-on leadership experience matters most.
