Atrium is partnering with a leading firm specializing in large-scale construction and development projects, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects. Their team is dedicated to excellence, innovation, and maintaining the highest standards of compliance and financial integrity. They are currently looking to expand their team by bringing on a Project Accounting Manager.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$100k – $120k

Position Overview:

The Project Accounting Manager will oversee two project accountants and manage the full scope of project accounting functions. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with lien waivers, bonding requirements, change order processes, tax compliance, and other critical project accounting tasks for high-value projects.

Responsibilities of the Project Accounting Manager:

  • Supervise, mentor, and provide oversight to two project accountants.
  • Manage all project accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Oversee preparation and tracking of lien waivers, bonding, and compliance documentation.
  • Review and manage change orders to ensure accurate accounting treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations; assist with audits and reporting.
  • Monitor the financial performance of large-scale projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, legal, and executive leadership to support financial decision-making.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in project accounting.

Required Experience/Skills for the Project Accounting Manager:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in project accounting, including 3+ years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Experience in construction or engineering project accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of lien waivers, bonding, compliance, and tax regulations.
  • Proven experience handling large, complex projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in project accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Project Accounting Manager:

  • Experience with Textura and other construction-specific systems.
  • Background in managing change orders and related documentation.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
