Salary/Hourly Rate:
$85k plus 5% – 10% Bonus
Position Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Property Accountant to join our client’s team in the dynamic field of commercial real estate. As a Property Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial transactions and reporting for a diverse portfolio of commercial properties. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining accurate accounting records, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities of the Property Accountant:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties.
- Analyze financial data to assess property performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Generate variance reports and provide insights to stakeholders on financial trends and projections.
- Maintain the general ledger for assigned properties in accordance with GAAP principles.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
- Ensure proper coding and classification of transactions to facilitate accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in the development and implementation of property budgets.
- Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.
- Prepare financial forecasts and projections to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications for the Property Accountant:
- Previous experience as a Property Accountant within the commercial or residential real estate industry is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi and MRI) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines effectively.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
