Position Overview:
The Sales Operations Specialist plays a pivotal role in optimizing sales processes and maximizing efficiency within the sales department. Responsibilities will include developing and refining various operational processes such as order management, pricing strategies, and lead management. By leveraging sales data analysis, they identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, generating insightful reports to track progress and performance. Working closely with the Sales team, they address operational needs, provide CRM support, and ensure accurate maintenance of customer and sales records. Crafting sales plans, SOPs, and job aids, they facilitate effective communication and execution of strategies. Additionally, they oversee campaign execution, provide training on operational tools, and offer guidance on promotional activities. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in sales operations or business development and demonstrates proficiency in CRM software, sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to multitask and work under pressure, are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities of the Sales Operations Specialist:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize sales operations processes, such as order management, customer segmentation, pricing, quoting, and lead management.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities, and create reports to track progress and performance.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to understand their operational needs and help achieve their goals.
- Utilize CRM to develop and maintain accurate customer and sales records.
- Develop strategies and tactics to maximize sales effectiveness and efficiency in the CRM.
- Create and manage sales documentation, including sales plans, SOPs, and job aids.
- Manage and advise on the execution of campaigns and promotions.
- Provide training and support to sales personnel on operations processes and tools.
Required Experience/Skills for the Sales Operations Specialist:
- Proficient in CRM software, sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, organized, and a collaborator.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Sales Operations Specialist:
- 5+ years of experience in sales operations, operations management, and business development is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field is required.
- An MBA is preferred.
