Our client, a small company in Framingham MA, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team.

Position Overview:

In this role as the Senior Accountant, you will oversee a range of accounting functions, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, tax preparation, and support for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning. The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant role thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is eager to contribute to our team’s growth. This individual-contributor-level role does not include people management or leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of month, quarter, and year-end close activities.
  • Manage long-range and short-term financial and business forecasts.
  • Coordinate sales tax and income tax activities.
  • Assess accounting and tax implications for key business decisions.
  • Optimize various revenue streams through cross-functional collaboration, including subscriptions and advertising.
  • Oversee financial and operational aspects of licensing partnerships.
  • Prepare materials for presentations to the Board of Directors, Management team, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:

  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with Quickbooks is preferred.
  • Familiarity with multi-entity/consolidating financial statements.
  • Understanding of cost accounting and tax planning.
  • Experience establishing and enforcing internal controls.
  • Reside within a 45-minute drive of Framingham, MA, and willing to work in-office one day per week.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 – 8 years of relevant experience is required.
