Salary /Hourly Rate:

$40/hr – $45/hr

Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant will be in charge of overseeing and executing all Retail Accounting activities. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for general ledger reconciliations, financial statement reporting, business support, month-end & year-end closings, audit assistance, sales audits, as well as bank, cash, and credit card reconciliations, insurance claims, and other assigned tasks. The Senior Accountant will be supervising two other staff and will ensure the timely completion of all retail accounting duties.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

  • Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements.
  • Conduct regular internal audits to ensure adherence to company policies and identify areas for process improvement.

Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:

  • Must have fashion/retail industry experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting.
  • Proficiency in Excel, accounting software, and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial regulations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey financial information clearly and effectively.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA or relevant professional certification is preferred.
