Our client is an Insurance Advisory firm based in Midtown, NYC. They are seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team!

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$90,000 – $120,000

Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the financial goals of our client, owning the end-to-end accounting process. The Senior Accountant compiles all necessary financial analysis in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all financial data adheres to GAAP standards.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

  • Oversee and prepare financial statements and regulatory reporting documents
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
  • Analyze operational data and financial information, identifying trends and offering recommendations for improvement
  • Support budget and forecasting activities, offering insights to help us grow and develop
  • Foster compliance with the company’s financial policies and procedures
  • Analyze and foresee any potential budget discrepancies
  • Support audit functions by collaborating with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
  • Assist in the development of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department

Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:

  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced knowledge of accounting software
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to handle confidential information
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation highly desirable
