Position Overview:

As the Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and success of their operations. Responsibilities will include managing and reconciling financial transactions, preparing accurate and timely financial statements, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to optimize cost efficiencies and drive profitability.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

  • Support month-end close activities by working directly with the Controller and COF.
  • Compile monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • General ledger maintenance.
  • Cost accounting experience.
  • Heavy inventory and COGS management.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers, tracking expenses, revenues, and inventory levels.
  • Code invoices, establish new accounts, reconcile accounts, and conclude monthly financial closings.
  • Bank reconciliations and validate deposits.
  • Manage the procurement and invoicing system.
  • Reconcile various financial accounts, including cash disbursement accounts, payroll, and customer accounts; oversee accounts receivable collections.
  • Validate and process payment of invoices linked to accounts payable, ensuring proper account allocation.
  • Provide support to external auditors, facilitating the annual audit by gathering necessary account information and documents.
  • Complete and file tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Collaborate with software vendors to uphold accounting software systems and recommend updates to optimize functionality.
  • Maintain proficiency in accepted accounting practices and procedures.

Qualifications for the Senior Account:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting.
  • Cost or Inventory accounting is preferred.
  • GAAP experience.
  • General accounting knowledge and cost accounting knowledge.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs).

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or a related field) is required.
