Client Overview:
Our client is a well-established, rapidly growing organization seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional who is comfortable working independently and collaboratively, and who is ready to make an impact in a fast-paced environment.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$35/hr
Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing the organization’s financial records, supporting month-end and year-end closing processes, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent analytical capabilities, and the ability to meet critical deadlines consistently.
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers.
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Review and record journal entries, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes and provide variance analysis.
- Assist with internal and external audits, including preparing supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting-related matters.
- Support the development and implementation of new accounting processes and systems.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
- 3 – 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- In-depth understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
- Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors.
- Prior experience mentoring or supervising junior accounting staff.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification is preferred but not required.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
