Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant with real estate and Yardi experience to join their Accounting team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$80k – $95k plus Bonus
Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing general ledger activity, and supporting key accounting functions across the organization’s real estate portfolio. The Senior Accountant will work closely with Property Management and leadership to ensure accurate reporting and contribute to strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for real estate entities.
- Manage general ledger entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Handle CAM reconciliations, rent roll reporting, and tenant billing adjustments.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Support annual audits, tax compliance, and external reporting needs.
- Partner with property management teams on financial performance reviews.
- Ensure accurate and efficient use of Yardi accounting software.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in real estate.
- Proficiency with Yardi accounting software is required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting practices.
- Hands-on experience with financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
- Experience with property management accounting.
- Exposure to multi-entity consolidations.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
- A CPA designation or progress toward a CPA is preferred.
