Our client, a nationally recognized leader in event management and sports development, is seeking to expand its growing team by bringing on a Senior Accountant.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$70k – $85k Depending on experience
Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the Accounting team by preparing financial statements, managing journal entries, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy across various consolidated entities. This position offers excellent professional growth opportunities, working closely with senior leadership, including a highly experienced Controller and CFO from high-growth, private equity-backed companies. This is ideal for a Senior Accountant looking to transition from public accounting to the private sector with real impact and visibility. Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant who is proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a high-performing Finance team.
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
- Manage billing, invoicing, collections, and revenue recognition to ensure compliance with contracts, company policies, and GAAP standards.
- Perform month-end close processes, including reconciling bank statements, general ledger accounts, journal entries, and credit card/expense submissions.
- Maintain accurate and efficient accounting records, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
- Analyze financial performance, providing insights to drive cost reduction and revenue growth.
- Assist the Controller with accounting projects and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
- Minimum 2 – 5 years of accounting experience.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
- Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics.
- Experience with cash flow forecasting and financial dashboards.
- CPA license or CPA eligibility.
- Private equity experience.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
