Our client are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our client who is based out of NJ. The company has quadrupled in revenue over the past 4 years and this is a newly created position. Salary/Hourly Rate:
$90,000 – $120,000
Position Overview:
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. The Senior Accountant’s experience in financial analysis, reporting, and compliance will contribute to the overall success of our company.
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
- Perform general accounting functions, including financial statement preparation, analysis, and reconciliation
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
- Monitor and analyze financial data, identifying trends and providing insights to support strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
- Assist with the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Prepare and review various financial reports, including budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
- Manage and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth
- Stay updated with the latest accounting regulations and industry trends, implementing best practices where applicable
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors as needed
Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant in a previous role
- NetSuite experience required
- CPA preferred/public accounting foundation preferred
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards
- Proficient in using accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail
- Solid understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
- Previous experience with ERP systems is highly desirable
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
