Client Overview:

Our client, a private equity company, is looking to add an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to their team. The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist will be part of a rapidly growing international organization.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$25/hr – $28/hr

Position Overview:

This role requires deep experience in managing complex, high-volume AP processes and the ability to partner across departments in a fast-paced investment environment. The ideal candidate will bring analytical problem-solving, process improvement, and leadership skills to strengthen the AP function.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist: 

• Oversee daily operations of the AP function, including invoice intake, coding, and approvals, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
• Manage complex, multi-entity, and multi-currency AP transactions across funds and corporate entities.
• Monitor and triage our AP ticketing system, resolving escalated issues promptly and ensuring SLA adherence.
• Review, process, and audit employee and candidate expense reports, ensuring compliance with corporate and fund-level policies.
• Collaborate with accounting, tax, fund accounting, and investment teams to resolve allocation, coding, and reconciliation challenges.
• Perform supplier onboarding and due diligence, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
• Reconcile vendor accounts and proactively manage aging reports, driving timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Support quarter-end and year-end closes by preparing AP schedules, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including automation, system enhancements (Workday Financials), and workflow optimization.

Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist:

• 3 – 5 years of progressive AP or accounting experience. 
• Demonstrated experience with complex, high-volume AP workflows and billable transactions.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting controls related to payables.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist:

• Experienced with ERP software.
• Prior exposure to private equity, asset management, or financial services strongly preferred. 

Education Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
