Our client, a boutique wealth management firm, is looking to add a Senior Financial Planning Analyst to their robust Research & Planning team!

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$100k – $130K + bonus

Position Overview:

The Senior Financial Planning Analyst supports the firm’s advisory team through advanced investment and insurance research, portfolio management, and financial plan development. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex client objectives while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities of the Senior Financial Planning Analyst:

  • Conduct in-depth research on investment and insurance opportunities to identify optimal solutions that align with client goals.
  • Manage and maintain model portfolios, including running reports, performing portfolio analyses, and executing bulk trades.
  • Develop comprehensive and complex financial plans, tax reports (e.g., Roth conversions, underpayment assessments), and summaries of existing annuity and insurance policies.
  • Support large and sophisticated client relationships through investment model management and technical plan preparation.
  • Participate in investment and insurance research meetings. Stay current on market trends and product developments.
  • Review and provide guidance on the work of Planning and Research Strategists; assist with training and ongoing development.
  • Contribute to special projects and other duties as assigned.

Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Financial Planning Analyst:

  • At least 5 years of experience with financial planning software.
  • Strong knowledge of investments, insurance, and financial planning principles.
  • Professional designations such as CFP®, CFA, or CPA are preferred.
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7, and/or NJ Life & Health Insurance License, a plus.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and ethical integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; advanced user preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
