Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our client’s dynamic Finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting practices.

Responsibilities of the Senior Staff Accountant:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing detailed analysis and insights.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
  • Support external audits and coordinate with auditors as needed.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.

Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Staff Accountant:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, QuickBooks.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets and financial models.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Staff Accountant:

  • QuickBooks Desktop and Online Experience.
  • Experience in a technology or software company.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of experience is required.
