$55k – $80k

Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. The ideal Staff Accountant is proactive, organized, and eager to contribute to a high-performing finance team.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and internal reports.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects.

Required Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:

  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or CPA eligibility is a plus.
