Our client is a growing consumer services company in the middle market with multiple business lines and continued acquisition growth. They are seeking a Staff Accountant to support expanding financial operations across the organization.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$60k – $67k
Position Overview:
As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of the company’s financial activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with a passion for the consumer industry.
Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, review and post journal entries, and monitor transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, and customer collections.
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities, coordinating with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Collaborate with the finance team to support annual budgeting and forecasting efforts, including variance analysis.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, identify trends, and uncover opportunities for cost optimization.
- Assist with tax preparation and audit support, ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations and working with external advisors as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience with full-cycle accounting, including financial reporting and month-end close.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Staff Accountant:
- Strong professional communication skills.
- Highly organized with clear written and verbal communication.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
