Client Overview:

Our client is a large healthcare system in New Jersey. They are now looking for a Temp Retail Pharmacist.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$60/hr – $75/hr

Position Overview:

This Temp Retail Pharmacist involves ensuring medications are dispensed safely and appropriately in compliance with all legal and professional standards, reviewing prescriptions to verify the correct medication, dosage, dosing interval, and route of administration, providing accurate drug information and consulting with physicians, nurses, other healthcare professionals, and patients regarding medication therapy as needed, applying knowledge of growth and development principles to assess and meet the age-specific needs of each patient, making independent decisions using sound clinical judgment and professional expertise, and demonstrating flexibility and adaptability by multitasking effectively and working across various retail pharmacy locations as required.

Responsibilities of the Temp Retail Pharmacist:

• Manage prescription workflow, including accurate data entry, insurance handling, and verification.
• Document any changes or notes to original prescriptions as needed.
• Follow insurance guidelines (e.g., Medicare D, Medicaid, commercial plans) with working knowledge of coverage rules.
• Deliver prompt, courteous customer service and respond to phone inquiries efficiently.
• Consult with healthcare providers and patients regarding medication therapy and drug information.
• Process new and refill prescriptions from various sources with accuracy.
• Evaluate medication issues using appropriate resources, including drug interactions and allergy checks.

Required Experience/Skills for the Temp Retail Pharmacist:

• Licensed NJ Pharmacist.
• High attention to detail, recognizing the potential impact of errors.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Temp Retail Pharmacist:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.

Education Requirements:

• PharmD from accredited university.
