Our client is a leading private label fashion brand specializing in high-quality knitwear and sweaters. We are dedicated to providing our customers with innovative and stylish designs that meet the highest standards of craftsmanship. Our team is passionate about fashion and committed to pushing the boundaries of design and creativity. We are now looking for a Temporary Knitwear/Sweaters Designer.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$33 – $35/hr depending on experience
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Temporary Knitwear/Sweaters Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in knitwear design and possess a strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. This temporary position offers the opportunity to contribute to our seasonal collections and bring fresh, innovative ideas to our design process. Duration: Temp – 5-6 months.
Responsibilities of the Temporary Knitwear/Sweaters Designer:
- Design and Development: Create innovative and stylish knitwear and sweater designs that align with the brand’s aesthetic and target market.
- Trend Research: Conduct market and trend research to stay updated on the latest fashion trends, materials, and techniques in knitwear.
- Technical Sketches and Illustrations: Develop detailed technical sketches and illustrations using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Material Selection: Collaborate with the sourcing team to select appropriate yarns, fabrics, and trims for each design.
- Sample Creation: Work closely with the production team to develop prototypes and samples, ensuring designs are executed accurately.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, marketing, and production, to ensure cohesive and marketable collections.
- Quality Control: Review and approve samples, providing constructive feedback to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of design specifications, materials, and production processes.
Required Experience/Skills for the Temporary Knitwear/Sweaters Designer:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in knitwear and sweater design.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Strong understanding of fashion trends, knitwear techniques, and garment construction.
- Demonstrated creativity and ability to create innovative, marketable designs.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Temporary Knitwear/Sweaters Designer:
- Experience working with high-end or luxury knitwear brands.
- Knowledge of additional design software and tools.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of knitwear designs.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
