Our client is an innovative retail brand focused on creating unique and immersive shopping experiences through temporary and pop-up locations. Their company values sustainability, community engagement, and thoughtful design in every aspect of their work. Currently, we are looking to add a Temporary Store Manager to our client’s team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$35/hr – $38/hr

Position Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned Temporary Store Manager to lead the launch and daily operations of a new pop-up retail store in New York City. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in store openings, especially pop-up concepts, and who excels at managing teams and driving retail performance. A passion for sustainability and ethical consumerism is highly desirable.

Responsibilities of the Temporary Store Manager:

  • Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Manage and mentor store associates to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Support store setup and launch, ensuring operational readiness and visual standards.
  • Monitor inventory, process transactions, and maintain store cleanliness.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
  • Provide regular feedback and reporting to corporate teams.
  • Be a brand ambassador, embodying company values and engaging customers meaningfully.

Required Experience/Skills for the Temporary Store Manager:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail management.
  • Demonstrated experience launching or managing pop-up stores or new store openings.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Ability to work weekends and a flexible schedule.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Temporary Store Manager:

  • Interest or background in sustainable or mission-driven retail.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and retail operations software.
  • Experience in fashion, lifestyle, or experiential retail.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
