Client Overview:
Our client is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to improving food access for local communities. The organization partners with community programs, distribution partners, and outreach initiatives to ensure nutritious food reaches individuals and families in need. They are currently looking to add a Transportation Dispatch Associate to their team. The team is committed to collaboration, service, and creating meaningful impact.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$20/hr – $24/hr DOE
Position Overview:
The Transportation Dispatch Associate supports daily logistics operations by coordinating driver dispatch, ensuring route efficiency, maintaining safety standards, and completing time-sensitive administrative tasks. This role is essential to ensuring the timely and accurate movement of goods throughout the community.
Responsibilities of the Transportation Dispatch Associate:
- Coordinate and process daily dispatches for drivers, including route setup and schedule adjustments.
- Conduct regular yard checks and safety inspections.
- Provide administrative and operational support, ensuring completion of daily reports and documentation.
- Monitor fleet activity using digital dashboards to identify unsafe vehicles or assignment issues.
- Support the Transportation Manager with other logistics-related tasks as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the Transportation Dispatch Associate:
- 2 – 4 years of experience in warehouse, transportation, or logistics operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work varying schedules, including occasional 10-hour days and mandatory Saturdays.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physically repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable working irregular hours as needed.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Transportation Dispatch Associate:
- Experience with fleet management tools or dispatch software (e.g., monitoring dashboards).
- Prior experience in nonprofit or community-based operations.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
