X-Ray Technician

Our client is an organization providing physical therapy and pain management services to patients throughout New Jersey. They are seeking an X-Ray Technician to join their team!

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$32 – $38/hr

Position Overview:

This X-Ray Technician will be responsible for operating radiologic equipment to generate images used for diagnostic purposes. The X-Ray Technician will perform tasks such as capturing x-rays while adhering to all prescribed radiologic guidelines and standards to uphold patient care and safety protocols. This role will work M-F with one late night per week.

Responsibilities of the X-Ray Technician:

• Position patients on examination tables and adjust equipment to obtain optimal views of specific body areas as requested by physicians
• Provide clear instructions to patients to alleviate concerns and gain their cooperation during procedures
• Assess x-ray requirements by reviewing instructions from physicians or reading requests
• Prepare x-ray rooms and equipment for patient use, ensuring everything is in proper working order
• Arrange x-ray equipment and configure controls to set exposure factors like duration and distance
• Utilize techniques and tools to minimize radiation exposure for both patients and staff members
• Capture necessary exposures for requested procedures, ensuring compliance with established standards
• Develop exposed radiographs using either film processors or digital methods
• Operate digital systems for archiving and communicating x-ray images efficiently
• Transport patients to and from examination rooms as needed
• Assist physicians or technologists during more complex procedures as required
• Perform fluoroscopy procedures under physician supervision, such as joint injections or specialized pain management procedures
• Coordinate with other technologists when multiple personnel are needed for procedures
• Maintain detailed records of patients examined, examinations conducted, medical histories, views taken, and technical factors used
• Ensure the availability and functionality of essential supplies and equipment for procedures

Qualifications for the X-Ray Technician:

• Current New Jersey X-ray certification required
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
• 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Tech

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology, Radiology or a related field is required
