Client Overview:

Our client is a highly regulated consumer products company with a track record of successful products in the market and great safety standards. This company has an R&D site in Hackettstown, NJ, that has a very friendly and positive culture and inclusive environment, and they are looking to add a Lab Technician to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$20/hr

Position Overview:

The Lab Technician will be supporting the R&D department in hands-on lab testing. This lab work will include wet and instrumental chemistry. The Lab Technician will work Monday to Friday and be accountable for being at work at 8:00 am daily. 

Responsibilities of the Lab Technician:

  • Carefully assist Scientists and Lab Technicians in a fast-paced R&D setting with a variety of tasks, including sample preparation, testing, lab clean-up, inventory, and data entry.
  • Strictly follow SOPs to weigh, mix, and prepare materials for testing and applications.
  • Use instruments to evaluate the physical and chemical properties of the samples.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workbench.
  • Input and review data from testing.
  • Ensure inventory is organized and up to date.
  • Follow all safety protocols and processes to ensure a safe and professional space for all.

Required Experience/Skills for the Lab Technician:

  • Experience working in a lab in an academic setting, ideally experience from a General Chemistry lab course, handling chemicals, disposing of waste, and documenting results.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Ability to independently calibrate and operate lab instruments. 

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Lab Technician:

  • Professional demeanor and communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • A positive energy with an eagerness to learn and contribute.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field is required.
