Our client is in the financial services industry with a great location and is looking to hire a Senior Accountant.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$75,000 – $89,500

Position Overview:

Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. The Senior Accountant will code invoices, establish new accounts, reconcile accounts, and assist in closing the monthly books. They will maintain and update the general ledger and stay updated on acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

  • The Senior Accountant will prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and various financial accounts.
  • Verify and process payment of invoices related to accounts payable, ensuring accurate account charges.
  • Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts, verification of deposits, and addressing bank inquiries.
  • The Senior Accountant will conduct general cost accounting and perform related duties.
  • File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Provide assistance to external auditors by gathering necessary account information and documents for the annual audit.
  • Collaborate with the software vendor to ensure the maintenance of accounting software systems, recommending updates for enhancement.
  • The Senior Accountant will oversee the purchasing and invoicing system.
  • Stay updated on acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
  • The Senior Accountant will perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Understanding and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Ability to accurately prepare tax reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • CPA is preferred.
