Our client, a small, but successful family-owned food processing company with a long history of serving global clients is looking for a Process Operator. Salary/Hourly Rate:
$20/hr – $23/hr Depending on experience.
Position Overview:
The Process Operator is primarily responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment and machinery in the plant to ensure their quality, safety, and efficiency during production. The Process Operator is expected to work a minimum of 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday, 3rd shift. Training will take place during the 1st shift.
Responsibilities of the Process Operator:
- Safely operate process equipment and plant control systems
- Monitor process equipment and conditions through information systems to optimize plant performance
- Gather and report plant measurements on performance, quality, costs, yields, environmental health and safety, and production rates
- Conduct field checks, adjust control systems, and operate manual equipment based on process and lab data
- Identify root causes of deviations in process, product, or equipment performance using troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis
- Spot opportunities for improvement and implement enhancements as needed
- Analyze laboratory and sampling results to uphold process and quality standards. Sample batches and conduct in-process Quality Control testing
- Operate, inspect, and troubleshoot process equipment, carry out routine repairs, improvements, and preventive maintenance
- Ensure operational activities and process performance align with plant and business objectives
Qualifications for the Process Operator:
- Experience as a Chemical Operator, Process Operator, or experience in a manufacturing space or warehouse
- Must be able to work the overnight shift, Monday – Friday, 40+ hours a week, and be flexible to occasional weekends
- Must be able to perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting, working in tight or closed-in spaces, climbing stairs/ladders, and working at heights as well as standing or walking for extended periods of time
- Must have a current, valid US driver’s license
- The state of New Jersey High-Pressure Boiler Operator’s License is a plus
- Must have a strong commitment to safety and environmental protection
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED is required
