Effective December 23, 2019, Atrium Temporary Staffing Associates may be eligible for the flexible Atrium Paid Holiday Sick Time (PHST) program, pending all of the following criteria is met.* Associates must be actively working, be on assignment for 90 days, and may use a maximum of 64 hours of PHST in a calendar year. Atrium’s calendar year is defined as January 1 to December 31.

PHST begins to accumulate on the first day of employment at a rate of one (1) hour for every 30 hours worked. PHST may be taken on your 91st calendar day and any earned but unused PHST may be carried forward into a new calendar year (with the exception of employees working in New York state); limit of 128 hours at any time may be banked and you will not accrue until that bank is reduced.

PHST may be used for needs including Personal, Bereavement, Jury Duty Service, Doctor’s Appointments, Sick Day and Holidays. PHST may be taken in increments of 4 or 8 (MA working associates may use in increments of 1), and may be requested in 1 - 5 consecutive days. You must have the hours accrued and available to use, and not have used 64 in that calendar year. If the PHST is foreseeable, you must verbally notify your immediate supervisor and Atrium recruiter no more than seven days in advance of the need for PHST. PHST is paid at your current hourly rate.

If your assignment ends at any point, earned but unused PHST is not paid out. If you go back to work within six (6) months, and have met the eligibility requirements, earned unused PHST time accrued before the break in service will be reinstated.

You must be on an active assignment to be eligible for PHST with submission not more than fourteen (14) days from the date of the request. PHST may not be requested once you have given your notice to end employment nor will PHST be processed after you last day worked. If you are working in a CA mandated Paid Sick Time (PST) city/state, you are not eligible for PHST and will follow the ordinance set forth by your city/state of which you are currently working. PST nor PHST are paid out at termination, follow break in service rules, and both are paid at rate of current assignment.

Paid Sick Time (PST) Request Information

California Paid Sick Time

Atrium Associates who work in California for at least 30 days within a year and by satisfying a 90 day employment period are eligible to accrue sick time on all hours worked at a rate of one (1) hour of earned sick time for every 30 hours worked. Accrual begins the first day of employment. A maximum of 40 hours or 5 days of PST may be used in a calendar year. Atrium’s calendar year is defined as January 1 to December 31.

San Francisco, Santa Monica, Emeryville, Oakland & Berkeley Paid Sick Time

Atrium Associates who work in San Francisco, Santa Monica, Emeryville, Oakland & Berkeley, CA are eligible for one (1) hour of PST for every 30 hours worked and can use up to a maximum of 72 Sick Leave Hours.

San Diego Paid Sick Time

Atrium Associates who work in San Diego, CA are eligible for one (1) hour of PST for every 30 hours worked and can use up to a maximum of 40 Sick Leave Hours.

Los Angeles Paid Sick Time

Atrium Associates who work in Los Angeles, CA are eligible for one (1) hour of PST for every 30 hours worked and can use up to a maximum of 48 Sick Leave Hours.

*The statewide law does not preempt San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Monica, Los Angeles, Emeryville, Oakland & Berkeley’s Paid Sick Leave Ordinances. Associates receive the benefit of whichever provides the more generous leave.

Sick Leave will begin to accrue upon the completion of 90 days of employment. Any earned but unused PST may be carried forward into a new calendar year. PST may be taken in one (1) hour increments. If the PST is foreseeable, you must verbally notify your immediate supervisor and Atrium counselor in advance of the need for leave. Sick time is requested using the form below and paid at your current hourly rate. Sick Leave may be used for the Associate’s own or a family member for the diagnosis, care or treatment of an existing health condition or preventive care or for specified purposes for an Associate who is a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking.

West Hollywood Paid Sick Time

Atrium Associates who work in West Hollywood, CA, are eligible for .039 hours of uncompensated leave for each hour worked, up to 80 hours per year, and no less than .047 hours of compensated Leave for each hour worked, up to 96 hours per year. Associates may request accrual leave after the 120th day of employment with compensate leave available after the 90th day of employment. An employee may carryover a maximum of 192 hours for compensated leave and a maximum of 80 hours for uncompensated leave.
