Our client is a private-label company specializing in kids’ and junior products. They are currently looking to add a Product Developer to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$75k
Position Overview:
This full-time Product Developer role supports the development of private-label kids’ accessories across multiple categories. The position is primarily focused on product development, with some merchandising-related responsibilities, and requires a proactive, hands-on individual who can communicate clearly with factories and internal partners.
Responsibilities of the Product Developer:
- Manage product development from concept through production.
- Communicate directly with overseas factories to provide clear feedback and product revisions.
- Review samples and guide construction or design adjustments as needed.
- Support merchandising-related initiatives such as line organization and sales collaboration.
- Partner cross-functionally with sales and internal stakeholders to support product launches.
- Maintain development timelines and ensure key milestones are met.
- Travel internationally approximately once per year to support factory relationships.
Required Experience/Skills for the Product Developer:
- 2 – 3 years of experience in product development or a combination of product development and merchandising.
- Background in kids’ or juniors’ product (accessories experience is not required).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to clearly articulate product feedback and necessary changes.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive working style.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Product Developer:
- Private-label product experience.
- Merchandising experience within apparel or accessories.
- Experience working with overseas vendors.
- Exposure to value-driven or high-volume product categories.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent relevant experience.
